George Calvin Baldridge's Obituary
George Calvin Baldridge was born in Nuyaka Community on May 27, 1935 to George Washington and Dollie Jane (Rice) Baldridge. He passed away on Sunday morning, February 28, 2016 at the age of 80. Calvin graduated from Nuyaka High School in 1955. He and Wanda Haddox were married on April 11, 1959. Calvin loved raising cattle, gardening, playing golf, and playing the guitar and singing. He was a hardworking man and worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas for 33 years. Calvin was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church of Okmulgee.
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, son, Wendall Lee Baldridge, brother, James Alfred Baldridge, sister Flora Crawford, five baby sisters and two baby brothers. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, son, Johnny Calvin and wife Barbra, grandson, John Matthew Baldridge, granddaughter, Leah Kathleen Grisham and husband Charlie, and sister, Dee Robison.
A funeral service for Calvin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at First Assembly of God of Okmulgee, with Reverend Raymond Doke officiating. Interment will follow in Okfuskee Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dave Blitz, Tom Brewer, Lance Ross, Tom Sainbury, Jimmy Couch, and Tom Rash. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Alfred Haddox, James Baldridge, Warren Baldridge, Troy Cornell, Floyd Baldridge, Haskell Baldridge, Audy Baldridge, Fred Baldridge, Arvil Baldridge, Bobby Baldridge, Tommy McAfee, Richard Whitlow, and Oklahoma Natural Gas Retirees. Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, March 2, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
