Frances Ada Vaughan's Obituary
Frances Ada Vaughan went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, February 17, 2010 at the age of 78. She was born January 27, 1932, between Gladewater and Kilgore, Texas to Francis Earl and Gladys Mae (Rhyne) Stout. She moved to Morris at the age of three and had lived there most of her life. She married Kenneth Dwaine Vaughan on February 14, 1952 in Morris. Mrs. Vaughan enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking and collecting cook books. She taught piano lessons for many years and was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church of Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Wanda Lee Stout and Margaret Earleen Summers and a half brother, Gary Stout. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Dwaine Vaughan, her children, Larry Vaughan and wife Jan of Tulsa and Lori Cole and husband Shawn of Bixby, brothers, James Stout and wife Caterina of Vallejo, California and Leonard Stout of Las Vegas, Nevada, half sisters, Gail Stout of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Karen Rosser of Las Vegas, Nevada, Becky Landaker of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Wanda Tracy of Las Vegas, Nevada, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vaughan will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the United Pentecostal Church of Morris with Reverend Larry Grissom officiating, assisted by Reverend Freddie Waldrip. Committal services will follow in the Morris Cemetery Chapel. Casketbearers will be David Porter, Johnny Whitaker, Dwayne Miller, David Edmonds, Bud Adams and Lloyd Peavey. Honorary Casketbearers will be Lonnie Smelser, Mel Jacobs Olen Hurt and Cecil Edmonds. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday evening at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.
