Frances Irene Gurny's Obituary
Frances Irene Gurny, age ninety-one passed from this life on September 7, 2020 in Tulsa. She was born to the late Thomas Bruton and Maggie (Kelly) Bruton on January 4, 1929, in Webb, Oklahoma. Frances married Roy Edward Gurny on September 14, 1946 in Tulsa and had two daughters Jacquetta Jo and Bernice Annette. The two spent over sixteen years together before his passing in 1962. After Roys passing, Frances raised both girls on her own in Beggs. Frances worked as a lab technician in Okmulgee for several years before working at Red Wing in Kellyville, Bama Pie in Tulsa, and later retired.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacquetta McCarthy of Beggs, Ok and Bernice Arrowood of Glenpool, Ok. Four Sisters: Faye Woods of Talihina, Ok, Dora Taylor of Beggs Ok, Yvonne Stringfellow West of Tulsa, Ok and Evelyn Bruton of Tulsa Ok. And one brother Frank Bruton of Sapulpa Ok, seven grandchildren; Keith Sanderson of Arlington, Tx, Buddy Sanderson of Cary, NC, Kenny Ashley Jr and Stacy Edwards of Henryetta, Ok , Sherry Walker, Lloyd Edward both of Beggs, Ok and Donna of Tulsa, Ok, eighteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Vernon Bruton, Delmer Bruton, JD Bruton, Willy Bruton and Ronnie Bruton.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Beggs Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the funeral expenses of Irene.
