Flora Jackson's Obituary
Flora Mae (Carpitcher) Jackson a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, in Tulsa at 69 years of age. She was born on July 24, 1954 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Sam Carpitcher and Melissa (Lindsey) Wacoche. Flora married Joe Sunday Jackson on July 20, 1979 in West Berlin, Germany. Flora retired, after 34 years, from Muscogee Creek Nation Health Department on December 22, 2023, as a Purchasing Clerk of the POPPS Program. She loved hanging out with family, especially her grands and great grands, friends and watching her alma mater, Sequoyah Indians, where she was a Diamondette.
Flora is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Joe Sunday Jackson, three brothers, James Melvin, Alec Lewis Lindsey, and Buddy Lindsey.
She is survived by three daughters, Marva Jackson of Glenpool, Lora Jackson and Jeremy Dearman of Sand Springs and Lisa and David McBride of Sapulpa, a brother Mose Danny Lindsey of Dewar, three brother-in-laws, Jackie and Diana Jackson of Okmulgee, Andrew and Karen Jackson of Oklahoma City and Robert Jackson of Okmulgee, two granddaughters Marissa Proctor and Joshua Simpson of Glenpool, Madison Proctor and Daylen Warrior of Checotah, and one grandson Daniel Holmes of Glenpool, one step-grandson Korey Dearman of Okmulgee, four step-granddaughters, Hannah Dearman of Okmulgee, Autumn Dearman of Okmulgee, Macee Dearman of Okmulgee and Madelyn Dearman of Okmulgee, three great grandsons, Richard Svnte, Joe Tecumseh, Mateo Don and one step great granddaughter Kaisley Cox. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.
Viewing will be 12:00 PM to 5:00PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. A wake service will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the McClendon-Winters Life Celebration Center. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, April 3, 2024 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Anderson, Rev. Chebon Kernell and Rev. Jeremy Dearman officiating. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers are Daniel Holmes, Joshua Simpson, Daylen Warrior, Korey Dearman, David McBride, and Jeremy Dearman.
Refreshments will be offered at the Jackson Home following the conclusion of services.
