Evert R. Boak's Obituary
Evert R. Boak, lifelong Beggs resident, died in Tulsa on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 85 years of age. Evert was born in Beggs on January 14, 1927 to Joseph and Odie (Harbeston) Boak. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On February 16, 1950 he married Virginia Evelyn Sadler in the parsonage of the First Baptist Church. He worked for American Saint Gobain Glass and was a retired volunteer fireman. Evert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Johnny Boak on March 29, 2012, one sister Nellie, and two brothers: Joe and Roy.
Evert is survived by his wife of 62 plus years, Virginia of the home, a daughter Debbie Snyder of Beggs, a son Evert Boak and wife Peggy of Beggs, six grandchildren: Angie Harris, Lisa Carpenter, Joe Boak, Shelby Boak, B.J. Boak and Lisha Talbert, twelve great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Marge Boak.
Funeral services honoring Evert’s life will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Beggs with Reverend David Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Beggs Cemetery. Friends may view Evert at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs on Wednesday from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family request memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
