Ester E. Phelps' Obituary
Ester Eve (Weaver) Phelps, 80, a longtime resident of Beggs, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Tulsa Nursing Center. She was born June 1, 1931 in Short, Oklahoma to Paul A. and Vena Viola (Fuller) Weaver. She married Gilbert C. Phelps on December 4, 1947 in Union Town, Arkansas. Ester enjoyed quilting and spoiling her great grandkids. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Salas and Charlie Weaver and an infant sister.
Ester is survived by two sons; Gilbert C. Phelps, Jr. of Beggs and Jerrett Dale Phelps of Sand Springs, grandson, Doug D. Phelps, granddaughter, Yvette Cowen, granddaughter, Amy Phelps, and five great grandchildren, Natalie Phelps, Kaci Phelps, Joshua Phelps, Mackenzy Cowan and Braden Cowan. She also has three brothers and a sister surviving; David Weaver, Kenneth Weaver, Jimmy Weaver and Margaret Lowe.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Seabolt Cemetery in Nicut, Oklahoma with Reverend Travis Markes officiating. Viewing will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs. Online condolences may be sent to www.mcclendon-winters.com
