Edwin Wade Ash's Obituary
Edwin Wade Ash, 75, a longtime Tulsa resident and attorney, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, due to an accidental fall while visiting friends in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on September 18, 1935, a son of the late Zenith W. and Louise Malfregeot Ash. Edwin was a 1953 graduate of Victory High School and attended West Virginia University and Salem College. He received his Juris Doctorate from Tulsa University in 1965 and began his private practice as the Ash Law Firm, specializing in Plaintiff’s personal injury. He was a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Board of Trial Advocates and American Inns of Court. He was admitted to all Oklahoma Courts State and Federal, the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal, United States Supreme Court, the Tribal Court of Muscogee (Creek) Nation and Pro Hac Vice in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and California.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ellen Williams Ash whom he married in 1961.
Also surviving are his children, Gwen Fidler and husband John of Okmulgee, Beth Woolington and husband Corry of Enid, Chip Ash and wife Laurie of Cody, Wyoming and Scott Ash and wife Monica of Tulsa, grandchildren, Chris Fidler and wife Shelby and Ashley Hebert and husband Reid, all of Oklahoma City, Taylor and Sean Woolington of Enid, Jessica and Lucas Ash of Cody, Wyoming, and Ian, Austin, and Jacob Ash of Tulsa, and a great grandson, Brody Fidler, of Oklahoma City.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Jane and Louis Malfregeot.
As per his request he will be cremated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Holy Family Cathedral with Reverend Monsignor Gregory A. Gier officiating.
The family has requested memorials be made to the John 3:16 Mission or the Catholic Charities of Tulsa in Mr. Ash’s name.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
