Dwight Glenn Wofford's Obituary
Dwight G. Wofford, passed away June 5, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80. He was born on May 22, 1944, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Joe and Elizabeth (Johnson) Wofford.
Dwight grew up in the Oaks Community and graduated from Oaks High School. He proudly joined and served in the United States army after and did a tour in Vietnam. After serving two years in the United States army, he transferred to the United States Army reserves and retired as a drill sergeant in 1994. During this time, Dwight had moved to the Tulsa area where he began his career with the United States army corps of engineers. He worked in various locations and moved to Marshall Texas with his wife Joyce. They were members of the VFW American Legion, and the Elks Lodge. They then settled in Colbert, Oklahoma until his retirement from the core of engineers. Dwight did not like sitting still, leading him to take a job with the Chickasaw nation, delivering meals to homebound senior citizens. He was a man of God, attending church regularly where he was residing.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce, siblings Joe Emmitt Jr., Todd Wofford, and Wahleha (Sissy) Maxey.
He is survived by his daughter Jamie Wofford, son Joe Wofford, sister Wahilla Adams, grandchildren Kody Choate, Parker Wadley, Amity Wofford, Bentlee Wofford and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Beggs. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Monday June 10, 2024 at First Baptist Church Mounds with interment following at Beggs Cemetery.
