Donna Mae Wilson's Obituary
Donna Mae Wilson 74, longtime Okmulgee resident, died in Tulsa on Sunday, May 26, 2013. She was born in Depew, Oklahoma on July 21, 1938 to Finis and Rena (Brooks) Bowles. She married Kenneth Wilson in Chandler, Oklahoma on July 3, 1959. Donna worked as bookkeeper for Okmulgee Ready Mix for 25 years before retirement. She loved her family, going on many family vacations, trips with her sister Pat to New Mexico, and OU Football. Donna was very active in Calvary Baptist Church working in the nursery and the kitchen as long as her health permitted.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her loving husband Kenneth of the home, a daughter Shawna and husband Steve Thomas of Okmulgee, a granddaughter Stephanie and her husband Aaron Wilson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a grandson Steven and his wife Melissa Thomas of Norman, Oklahoma, great grandson Aaron Roland Wilson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a sister Pat and her husband Don Davis of Okmulgee. Donna was also awaiting the arrival of her second great grandson Cooper Matthew Thomas. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Manning officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Viewing will be on Wednesday, 12:00 M until 8:00 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials in Donna’s name to Susan G. Komen, Attn: Donor Services, P.O. 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Casketbearers will be Don Hale, David Morgan, Jody Wadley, Carroll Jones, David Taylor, and Rocky Lee.
