Don Ledford's Obituary
Obie Donald “Don” Ledford, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Sunday evening, June 29, 2014 at his home. He was 70 years of age. Don was born August 25, 1943 in Okmulgee to the late Obie Olen and Ruby (Dixon) Ledford. He married JoAnn Tabor on June 28, 1963 in San Pablo, California. Don’s career with Okmulgee Ready Mix spanned forty years. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Okmulgee Elks Lodge, Okmulgee County Cattleman’s Association, Oklahoma Ready Mix Association and formerly the Preston Water Board.
Don is survived by his wife of fifty years, JoAnn, of the home, a son, Cal Ledford and wife Jeannean of Okmulgee, a daughter, Karrie L. Fisher of Okmulgee, grandchildren, Codi Dawn Barnett and husband Josh of Morris, Rusty Davis and Corey Davis of Okmulgee, great grandchildren, Tenli and Timber Barnett, step granddaughter Amber, step great grandchildren, Maddie and Jaxson, brothers, Jim Ledford and wife Laura Nell and David Ledford and wife Cassie, all of Morris, sisters, Sherry Ledford and Ann Ledford, both of Okmulgee and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral services for Don will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at the Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers are Jim Hurt, Mike Yocham, Dusty Yocham, Ben Summy, Tom Clark, Tom Porter and Vernon Yocham. Viewing will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 12:00 – 8:00 P.M. with the family present to greet guests from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
