Debborah "Debbie" Elizabeth Crenshaw's Obituary
Debborah “Debbie” Elizabeth Crenshaw, 49, died at her home in Morris on Thursday, March 3, 2011. Debbie was born on January 30, 1962 in Oklahoma City to Teddy Cody Simmons and Terry Elizabeth (Dugger) Smelik. At the age of 8 she and her mom were baptized together at the Hudson Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Debbie graduated from Putnam City West High School. On September 12, 2002 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas she married Jack Crenshaw. She was formerly employed with the Department of Corrections, the Elks Lodge # 1822 in Okmulgee where she was also a member, and the Country Corner Store where she was a cook and clerk under three owners. Debbie enjoyed cooking of all sorts, sewing, knitting, spending time with friends at the Lodge and her family. Her life goal was to get well enough to go horseback riding and to cook all her favorite recipies.
Her father Teddy Simmons preceded her in death.
Debbie is survived by her husband Jack of the home, one son Jason Atwood of Oklahoma City, one granddaughter, her mother Terry Smelik and step-father Wayne of Moore, three brothers: David Simmons and wife Connie of El Reno, Cody Simmons and wife Cathy of Choctaw, and John Villines of Moore, nephew Blake Villines, step-children: Larry Crenshaw and wife Donna of Morris, Rick Crenshaw and wife Sandy of Morris, and fifteen step-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Morris with Reverend Ray Moffeit officiating. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery. Casket bearers are O.C. Deaton, Nate Porter, Charlie Brasier, Gary Bardin, Paul Witt, and James Green. Friends may view Debbie at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Sunday from 1:00 – 6:00 P.M.
