Carl Newnam's Obituary
Carl Newnam, 80, longtime resident of Okmulgee County, died at his home Sunday, August 01, 2010. He was born in Davenport, Oklahoma to Thomas B. and Ola (Sharp) Newnam. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Carl married Georgia Jo Necessary. She preceded him in death in 1993. Carl retired from OSU Tech where he was an instructor. His parents, wife Jo, a sister Hazel Baker, and a brother tom Newnam preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Scott Newnam and wife Debra of league City, TX, Jeff Newnam and wife Sue of Beggs, OK, Kevin Newnam and wife Crystal of Okmulgee, OK, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, 10 am at the McClendon-Winters Chapel with Jim Waller officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, 1-8 pm with the family available 6-8 pm. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Carter, Shawn Newnam, Shane McCaslin, Bob McFerrin, Mac McFerrin and Justin McFerrin.
