Carl Eugene King's Obituary
Carl Eugene King was born May 26, 1938 in Eram, Oklahoma to the late Raymond and Opal Grace (Naumann) King. He passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at eighty-four years of age. Carl was united in marriage to Mary Lou Hopkins on June 3, 1961, in Morris. He began his teaching career in Eram, moving to Jenks and later returning to Okmulgee to work at OSU-IT, then Nuyaka, Liberty and Morris, all while doing what he loved most, farming and ranching. For over 60 years, Carl was Santa Claus at many holiday parties and events. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Morris and had been very involved with the Morris Area Farmers.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Leota McCurry and two brothers, Wayne King and Ray King.
Survivors include his children, Rodney King and wife Amy, Karla James and husband Bryan and Roger King and wife Sherry, grandchildren, Kallee King, Jasper King, Kassi Wilson and husband Austin, Bailey King, Blake King and wife Morgan and Brylee King, a brother, Roy King and wife Linda, sisters, Kathryn Hendrix and husband Chester and Wilma Goodwin, sisters-in-law, Judy King and Linda June King and numerous nieces and nephews
Viewing will be 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Morris.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church of Morris with Reverends Donald Hogue, Jr. and Anna Marie George officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Donnie Vaughn, Dusty Shipley, Scott Marshall, Dusty Mann, Sandy Jacobs, Jerry Foster and Pat Edmonds. Honorary Casketbearers will be Curtis Payne, Wendall Haworth, Kenneth Flanary, Eddie Hill, Dale Fowler, Ted Butler, Tom Porter, and Don Spurgeon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Morris in Carl’s memory.
