Bobby Leroy Lampkin, Sr.'s Obituary
Bobby Leroy Lampkin, Sr., known to many as “Weenie”, passed away Saturday morning, March 18, 2023, at his home in Beggs at seventy-three years of age. He was born February 12, 1950, in Edna to the late Arvie Anderson and Willie Jean Lampkin. Bobby was raised in Tulsa and Beggs by both his mother and grandmother, Florence Lampkin. He attended school in both cities, graduating in the first desegregated class of Beggs High School, class of 1968. He married Evelyn Ann (Grayson) Williams in Las Vegas on March 18, 2009 after meeting her in junior high school many years before. They enjoyed 26 years together. Bobby loved being active, being outdoors, and most times having several projects going on at one time. He enjoyed keeping his cars clean. Bobby worked for the Tulsa Housing Authority, retiring in 2018. Bobby was an active member of the First Baptist Church South of Beggs which he attended each Sunday until his health began to fail him. He enjoyed grilling and hosting family gatherings. The country life was truly the life for him.
On March 18, 2023, while surrounded by his family Bobby was officially given the keys to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and one brother. All the while leaving loving memories to wife ,Evelyn Ann, of the home and their blended family, consisting of sons: Bobby “Pedro” Lampkin, Jr. of Beggs, OK, William (Amanda) of Ada, OK, Kevin Pearson of El Reno, OK, Tommy Scyffore (Riana) of Oklahoma City, OK, Clovis Harrison (Rashida) of Forney, TX, and David Harrison (Edith) of Oak Cliff, TX, daughters Eneke Smith of Clinton, MS, Ebone’ Blake (Lloyd) of Clinton, MS, and Bre’Elle Lampkin of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren he helped raise Erynn Churchill of Beggs, Ok Ezrah Anderson of Beggs, OK; two sisters Marcia Sears of Mounds, OK and Leatta Downing (Lewis) of Jacksonville, FL, and a multitude of other grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Friends and family may visit the funeral home on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the First Baptist Church South in Beggs. Interment will follow at the New Post Oak Cemetery.
