Billy Paul Anderson's Obituary
Billy Paul Anderson, longtime Beggs resident and rural mail carrier, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024 in Tulsa at ninety-eight years of age. He was born Sunday, April 11, 1926 in Mounds to the late R.E. and Marlee Anderson. Billy graduated from Beggs High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Charlotte Doyle on September 2, 1950. Billy was an athlete and played baseball and basketball. He also served as an umpire and referee for many years. He was Beggs first Little League coach and along with Kenneth Buckley, Billy built the Little League field in Beggs. He was a Southern Baptist Deacon, a longtime 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Okmulgee Masonic Lodge #199 AF & AM.
Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of seventy-three years, Charlotte Anderson, daughters, Salli McCormick and husband Steve, Jennifer Floyd and husband Robert and Suzanne Anderson McIntosh, grandchildren, Sean Kouplen and wife Angela, Shanna Gomez and husband Richard, Summer Harvey and husband Neal, Tana Killman and Bryce McIntosh and wife Taylor. great grandchildren, Emory Kouplen, Kennedy Kouplen, Finley Kouplen, Blake Gomez, Sidney Youngblood and husband Tripp, Lochlan Harvey, Madison Killman, Avery Killman and Milo McIntosh and a great-great granddaughter, Vivien Youngblood.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.
A Committal Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Oakwood Cemetery Pavilion in Mounds. Reverend Duwayne Colvin will officiate. Honorary casket bearers will be Jack Branson, Johnny Hereden, Danny Cox, John Bell, Gary Story and Les Johnston.
Due to recent illness, the family encourages social distancing at the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Baptist Children's Home in care of the funeral home.
