Bill was the faculty sponsor for our Christian Fraternity (Chi Alpha) during my time at OSU. He and Connie welcomed our group into their home to watch replays of the football games on numerous weekends. After I graduated, Bill stood up with me as "Best Man" at my wedding. That was 44 years ago. I remember Bill would always give it to you straight but with kindness and good humor. I never knew him to delight in another's misfortune. Connie, you are in our prayers. I'm so sad that "Billy" is gone. He was such a special man. We reconnected a few years ago when he was living here in California. It was nice to visit with a cousin since I don't have any near me any longer. He reached out and it meant the world to me. Sometimes I'd be thinking about him and the phone would ring and it would be him, just checking in to see how my husband and I were doing. I will miss those phone calls, but will treasure the memories of them. So sorry for your lose Connie and kids, but we all know where he is and I know Aunt Marie and Uncle Vernie are smiling at the sight of his beautiful face. As is Jesus.
