Betty Ann Rodgers' Obituary
Betty Ann Woods Rodgers, age 86, resident of Highland Park Nursing Home in Okmulgee, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, when she went home to her heavenly Father and rejoined with her loving husband of 60 years.
Betty was born on July 5, 1933 in Okmulgee, OK to Odas and Hettie Woods. She graduated from Okmulgee High School with the class of 1951 and attended Okmulgee Tech until 1953. On August 15,1953, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Lawrence R. Rodgers. Throughout her married life she was employed with Rural Electric Cooperative and Carey Furniture. Her joy in life was when their only child, Karen Lynette was born. Betty attended Butler Memorial Methodist Church most of her life until its closing. The highlight for Betty this last month has been knowing she is going to be a great grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Odas and Hettie, her loving husband, Lawrence, sister Peggy Wilson and brother Robert Woods. She is survived by her daughter Karen Wolhart (Mark) of Okmulgee, sister Carolyn Robinson (Jim) of Beggs, brother George Woods (LaDonna) of Oklahoma City, grandson Jeffrey Wolhart (Carrie) of Hoffman, and granddaughter Ashley Wolhart of Okmulgee. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service for Betty will be held 1:00pm Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tracy Hoskins officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 2:00pm-8:00pm at the chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
