Betty Miller Reamer's Obituary
Betty Miller Reamer, lifelong Okmulgee resident, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 97 years of age. Betty was born January 17, 1919 in Okmulgee to the late Gus and Nannie (Thomas) Miller. She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1937 and later married E.G.”Bud” Reamer. Betty worked at the Okmulgee County Court House, Okmulgee Abstract Office and then retired from Pine Properties after 38 years. She had been an avid bowler and a Pony Girl. Betty had also served as a leader in Weight Watchers, was a member of the Morris Assembly of God, the Ladies Outreach Red Hat Group and the First Priority Club. She loved to knit and crochet, having made 167 framed names for her family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud Reamer, a brother, J.B. Miller and a nephew, Randy Miller. She is survived by a brother, Gene Miller and wife GeeGee of Austin Texas, her longtime friend and caretaker, Carol and Phil Gilstrap and their family, nieces and nephews, Jo Ann Brady, Sharon Reamer, Rocky Reamer, Danny Miller, Rick Miller, Terry Miller and Larry Miller, and numerous great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Morris Assembly of God with Reverends Raymond Doke and Richard Carender officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Danny Miller, Rick Miller, Mark Brady, Don Fitzgerald, Daniel Hodge, and Larry Miller. The visitation with friends and family will be held Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Betty’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
