"Aint Bert" was my mother's aunt but was like a grandmother to me and has always supported me to do well in school and in life. She frequently sent me cards with "token$" of encouragement throughout college and even in graduate school in the early stages of dementia. It meant the world to me and I have held on to all those cards with little handwritten notes. Unfortunately, I will not be able to travel to attend the funeral service in person but I have always and will continue to keep the precious memories I have of her near and dear to my heart.
