Troy Dock Wagoner

Troy Dock Wagoner, age 77, passed away on June 6, 2026, at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on November 30, 1948, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Troy J. Wagoner and Mattie (Nimmo) Hamilton Wagoner. As a young man, Troy moved with his family and lived in several Oklahoma communities, including Beggs, Meridian, and Oologah, where he graduated from high school. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for six years. After his military service, Troy attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he earned his bachelor's degree in education. He began his teaching career in Prattville and later taught in Sapulpa. While teaching, he continued his own education and earned a master's degree in education. Troy concluded his long and meaningful career at Keystone Middle School, where he touched the lives of countless students through his instruction in mathematics, computers, and history. His dedication to education left a lasting impact on generations of young people. On December 18, 2004, Troy married Peggy Ann Rider in Morris, Oklahoma. Together they shared 21 wonderful years filled with love, faith, and family. Troy had many interests throughout his life. He loved fishing, enjoyed an occasional round of golf, was an avid reader, and especially appreciated listening to live gospel music. His faith was an important part of his life. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school classes and would occasionally fill in as pastor when needed. Above all else, however, he treasured time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy and pride. Troy was preceded in death by his parents and fifteen half-siblings: Bill Hamilton, Johnny Craig Hamilton, Mary Ruth Southard, Geneva Keith, Bobby Ray Hamilton, Earl Wagoner, Bill Wagoner, Bobby Gene Wagoner, Art Wagoner, Archie Wagoner, Dorothy Reed, Ruthie Lee, Beulah St. Cyr, Eula Swanson, and Betty Lee McDaris. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Wagoner; daughters, Sheri Lard and husband Brian, and Paula Watson; son, Kevin Wagoner and wife Jenny; brother, Jim Hamilton; grandchildren, Brenna Watson, Nickolas Lard, Aiden Wagoner, Zoe Wagoner, and Clell Wagoner; and great-grandchildren, Daniella and Victoria. Troy will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, veteran, and man of faith whose kindness, wisdom, and love for learning touched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the family he cherished and the many students he inspired throughout his career. A private family service will be held to honor Troy's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Clarehouse or Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah. Donations to Clarehouse may be made by mail or through their website, while donations to Skyview Baptist Church may be dropped off at the funeral home.
