Tobie Richard Titsworth II

Tobie Richard Titsworth II was born September 29, 1922 near Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas to Tobie Richard Titsworth I and Liza Louise (Lamar) Titsworth. He passed away Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 89. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Beggs with Reverend Chris Gore and Scottie Titsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Shaun Culbert, Joe Culbert, Clint Scism, Lane Scism, Terry Tittsworth and Jim McQuery. Honorary casketbearers will be Billy Paul Anderson, Gordon Anderson and Ken Peterson. Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 11-5. Richard married Thelma Edith Stephens on July 8, 1944 in Tulsa. He and Thelma moved to Beggs in 1957 from Sand Springs. Richard was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Beggs where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. He spent most of his life working as a carpenter and retired from working in maintenance at Beggs High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 52 years, Edith, a sister, Marie Johnson and brother, M.C. Titsworth. He is survived by his children, Tobie Richard Titsworth II and wife Jeanne of Claremore, Connie Culbert and husband James of Beggs, and Roger Titsworth and wife Chris of McLoud, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Scottie Titsworth and wife Lauri, Stephanie Ingold and husband Scott, Shaun Culbert, Joe Culbert and wife Shannon, and Selena Scism and husband Clint, great grandchildren, Edie, Dorie, Eric, Alexandra, Ashley, Kayleigh, Cassie, Kristin, Jennifer and Lane, great grandchildren, Brittany, Chris and Brandon and two step great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Kennth Titsworth and wife Dorothy of Okmulgee, Dolly Evans and husband Jeff of Booneville, Arkansas, Anita McQuery and husband Pat of Wichita, Oklahoma, sister-in-laws, Marie Davenport, Ruth Parenti and Phylis Stevens and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to OMRF for Cancer Research or the Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Home, both in care of the funeral home.
