Kathelene J. Kelly

Kathelene “Jack” Kelly, lifelong Okmulgee resident, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 89 years of age. Kathelene was born September 17, 1930 in Okmulgee to the late John Henry and Pasha Ann (Edson) Johnson. She married Arthur Leroy Kelly on February 14, 1948 in Okmulgee. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2005. Kathelene worked for many years at Benders Mail Service and the peanut mill. She was an avid reader of the Bible, and a member of the Schulter Assembly of God and the Ladies Bible Study Group. She enjoyed visiting her friends and was faithful about visiting the nursing homes. She loved fishing, growing flowers and gardening, but most of all, she loved being with her family. Kathelene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Richard E. “Rick” Kelly, sisters, Marilee Lee, Beulah Mathis and Patsy Baldridge, brothers, Delmar Jay Johnson and Burley Johnson and a great grandson, Hunter Penfield. Those surviving Kathelene are her daughter, Gail Allred and husband Ron of Newalla, Sandra Creek and husband Jerry of Collinsville and Debbie Kelly of Claremore, a brother, Delbert Johnson of Harrah, grandchildren, Thomas Kelly, Crystal Watts and husband Tony, Casey Kelly and wife Regina, Shane Barnes and wife Kristi, Ron Allred II, Matt Robinson and wife Porsche, Kathie Penfield, and Clayton Allred and Emily, great grandchildren, Anna, Kelly, Brody, Zoey, Izzy, Hailey, Katie, Kaylee, John, Raycen and Gage, great great grandchildren, Jack and Asher and a host of friends, nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. with the family present from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. to receive friends. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Diane Twist officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Thomas Kelly, Casey Kelly, Ron Allred II, Shane Barnes, Matt Robinson, Clayton Allred and John Allred. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
