William Harvey Ellis ,Sr.

April 26, 1958 - July 30, 2020

William Harvey “Billy” Ellis, Sr. was born April 26, 1958 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Eugene and Dorothy (Wheeler) Ellis and passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 62 years of age. He was raised in Knoxville where he graduated from high school in 1977. He served in the National Guard and worked as a miner and mechanic most of his life. He married Terri Youell on February 14, 2018 in Okmulgee. Billy was a fantastic grandfather who loved being with his family. He was an active member of the Natura Baptist Church. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest daughter, Melissa Ellis and two brothers, Eddie Ellis and Jimmy Ellis. Survivors include his wife, Terri Youell-Ellis, a daughter, Stacy Norton, a son, William Ellis, Jr., Terri’s sons, Jonny Colwill and Ben Colwill, siblings, Bernajean McCloud, Danny Ellis, Roy Ellis, Tricia Kastler and Vickie Walker, thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 8, 2020 at the Natura Baptist Church with Pastor Scott McCullah officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
