Stella Louise Davis

Stella Louise Davis, longtime Morris resident, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 in Tulsa. She was 89 years of age. Stella was born January 10, 1933 in Morris, Oklahoma to the Jake and Leota (Keehn) Reynolds. She married Charles Davis on August 22, 1951 in Morris. Stella was a member of the Morris High School graduating class of 1951 and was an integral part of seeing that there was an annual class reunion, up until the pandemic stopped the gatherings. Stella loved her community. She was active in the Morris Lioness Club, where she organized the annual Christmas Parade. She put together the Morris History Book and when the new library was built, she spent many years volunteering with Val Volt. She was a longtime member of the Quilting and Flowers Clubs as well. Stella was a faithful member of the Morris First Christian Church Disciples of Christ for 73 years. She was behind bringing a new minister to Morris, building a great congregation and the construction of a new building. Stella was also the song leader for many years. Stella’s home was always open for all of her daughter’s friends. She loved them all and they loved “Mama Stella” as well. Stella will be remembered for the love she had for her family and will be greatly missed by all of those that were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Bud Reynolds, Maxine Biby, Edith Vance and June Parker and sons-in-law, Nelson Morton and Bruce Gaither.
