Paula Sue Mills

Paula Sue Mills, 80, longtime Beggs resident, passed away Monday morning May 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was born September 19, 1936 in Beggs, Oklahoma to the late Frank and Lorena Massey Chambers. She attended Beggs Schools and graduated high school in 1954. She later married Jay Mills on June 24, 1955 in Beggs. Paula worked for the Tulsa City/County Health Department in the Maintenance Department. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making and selling puppets as well as volunteering as a cook and sponsor at Falls Creek Youth camp in Davis, Oklahoma. Paula was a member of the First Baptist Church in Beggs and a member of the Glory Road Singers as well as a longtime member of the Beggs Alumni Committee. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Frank Jr., Richard and J.D. Chambers and a great grandchild Irissa Swanson. Survivors include her husband Jay, of the home, a daughter, Ronna Fryhover and husband Rick of Beggs, son, Dale Mills and wife Mary of Alliance, Ohio. Five grandchildren, Randy Fryhover of Tulsa, Richelle Swanson of Beggs, Rosemary Victory of Broken Arrow, Micah Mills of Turkey, and Melissa Glynn of Cleveland, Ohio. Four sisters, Norma Jean Patrick of Mounds, Nadine Tatyrek of Texas, Noama Smeltzer of Merryville, Missouri, and Leona Harrison of Washington State. Two brothers, Wayne Chambers of Beggs and Max Chambers of Mounds. Also, eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services for Paula will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Beggs, with Reverend Micah Mills and Reverend Chris Gore officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Friends may visit the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs, 205 W. Main Street for viewing on Thursday from 12:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. with the family present for Visitation from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions can be made to the Africa Mission Trip c/o the First Baptist Church of Beggs. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
