Norma Jean Sargent

July 23, 1931 - July 6, 2016

Norma Jean ( Jeanie) Sargent loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother left this world to join her Lord and loved ones before her on July 6, 2016 at the age of 84. Jeanie was born on July 23, 1931 to Dolores Irene Candler and Russell Carl Wells both preceding. On September 4, 1948 she married the love of her life Ollie Calvin Sargent and they were married for 65 years when the Lord called Calvin home on November 15, 2014. Jeanie and Calvin have three children together and were wonderful parents to Michael (Mike) Calvin and Rose Sargent of Katy, Texas, Janet Kay Watkins of Okmulgee and Dolores Marie Fleming of Okmulgee. She was blessed with three grandchildren Melissa Rose (Sargent), Marlon Romero of Katy, Texas, Jeff Daniel and Emily Fleming of Shawnee, Kevin Edward Fleming and Morgan Conner of Okmulgee also four great granddaughters Libby, Macey, Keely Fleming, and Rebel Fleming all of Okmulgee. Plus her first great grandson who is on the way who she was excited to meet and he will be told all about how wonderful his great grandmother was. Keith Edward Fleming who is considered family and she loved as her son. She loved to spend time with family especially on holidays as she'd spend weeks planning and decorating and cooking for her family. Jeanie also loved being outdoors tending to her flowers. She enjoyed camping, fishing and having her grandchildren with her. She loved bowling and was a member with WBIC for more than twenty years until the bowling alley closed. Jeanie was a devoted member of the Four Square Gospel Church. Jeanie was preceded in death by her mother and father and loving husband Ollie Calvin Sargent. A funeral service for Jeanie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel of Okmulgee with Reverend Charlie Green officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
