John "JR" Ross Watts

May 5, 1942 - August 8, 2020

John Ross Watts (J.R.) was born Tuesday, May 5, 1942 in Morris, Oklahoma to the late J.T. Watts Bertha Irene (Kelley) Watts. He passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at his home in Morris at 78 years of age. J.R. was a lifelong resident of Morris he attended Morris High School where he enjoyed running track, playing basketball and football. His athleticism allowed him to letter in all three sports. He graduated from Morris High school in 1960. J. R. married Shirley (Taylor) in Miami, OK on April 27, 1976. J.R. retired from Ball Brothers Glass Company after working there for 30 years. He was an avid deer hunter and especially enjoyed hunting with his sons, his other spare time was spent playing softball, farming, building using his talented carpentry skills. Above all else J. R. was a family man. J. R. was preceded in death by his parents J. T. and Irene Watts, sons-in-law; Thomas Dragovan and Robert Foster, stepson; Patrick Fields. Survivors include his wife Shirley of 44 years, two daughters Patricia Dragovan Foster of New Orleans, LA; Linda Morrow and husband James of Locust Grove, OK; four sons William Field and wife Michelle of Carney, OK; Gary Watts and wife Darlene of Morris, OK; George Field and wife Monique of Morris, OK; Steve Watts and wife Mashell of Morris, OK; a sister Nina June Johnson and husband Bill of Morris, OK; a brother Joe B. Watts, of Morris. OK; and fifteen grandchildren Geoffery Woodruff and wife Mallorie of Verdigris, Oklahoma; Jason Morrow and wife Mandy of Locust Grove, OK; Eric Field of Morris, OK; Nicholas Dragovan of Ohio; Tyler Watts and wife Jessica of Morris, OK; Zachariah Field of Carney, OK; Nathan Watts of Morris, OK; Jeremy Watts and wife Renee of Edmond, OK; Christopher Liddy of Morris, OK; Misty Johnson and husband Justin of Locust Grove, OK; Danielle Bond and husband Shannon of Oklahoma City, OK; Amy Morrow of Tulsa, OK; Kristian Pinsonneault and husband Tony of Morris, OK; Taylee Dragovan of Seattle, WA; and Kendra Johnson and husband Blake of Morris, OK. He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. to receive friends. A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 14, 2020 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel officiate by Pastor Danny Harmon. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery. Following the interment, the Elks Lodge will be providing a dinner for family and friends. Casketbearers will be Jason Morrow, Eric Field, Tyler Watts, Jeremy Watts, Geoffery Woodruff, and Tony Pinsonneault, Nicholas Dragovan. Honorary casketbearers are Nathan Watts and Zachariah Field.
