June 22, 1961 - September 15, 2021
On September 15th, Jerome (Jerry) Maddox, 60, found his way home to his mom and dad to rest in eternal peace. Jerry was a long time Okmulgee resident known to many and loved by all. He had a caring spirit and was genuinely one of the funniest people anyone could ever have the pleasure of knowing. Jerry graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1980 and from OSUIT with a Culinary Arts degree in 1984. He greeted each day with a quiet enthusiasm and lived his life with the heart and wonder of a child. He could find joy in the simplest of things, teaching us all to embrace life and find happiness in all its moments. Many residents may remember Jerry from the Orpheum Theater, where he spent a lot of his time. Others may remember him from his weekly trips to play bingo with his mom at the Elks Lodge. Jerry adored movies, board games, comic books, and spending time with his family. He was tenacious, walking all over Okmulgee and enjoying the sights and sounds of the town he loved. Jerry was an example to everyone who knew him of how to be genuine and kind, and he will be deeply missed by more people than he would ever have imagined. Jerry will be greeted in the afterlife by his mom and dad - Anne and Dan Cash. Jerry is survived by; sister, Anne Argyle with husband Ron argyle; brothers, Daniel Cash Junior with wife Melissa Cash and Robert Cash with wife Mechelle Cash; nephews, Raymond Cash and Alex Cash; nieces Kristin O’Dell with husband David O’Dell, Brandi Brown with husband Brady Brown, Brytni Argyle with husband Vincent Argyle, and Rachael Cash; grand nieces and nephews, Carson, Roman, Jackson, Kingston, Sabre, Hayden, and Zayne; along with many other family and friends. Graveside funeral services for Jerry will be held at Wilson cemetery on Friday, September 24th at 10 am.
