James Edward (Chocky) Yeager, Jr. longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away Thursday morning, September 10, 2020 in Okmulgee at 75 years of age. James was born July 9, 1945 in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late James and Dora (Wilkerson) Yeager. He spent most of his life in Okmulgee where he was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. James was also a faithful volunteer at the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Tribal complex. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Blanche (Yeager) Beaver, Mabel (Yeager) McNac and brother Newman Yeager. Survivor include a sister Elizabeth (Beth) Coker. Survivors include nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Visitation will be held at the McClendon-Winter Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 12:00 P.M.–6:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, in Okmulgee with Reverend Sheri Lashley officiating. Interment will follow at the Seminole Hitchitee United Methodist Church Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
