Everett Euel Allen, Jr., of Okmulgee, was born November 27, 1939, in the community of Rocky Ridge in Haskell County Oklahoma. Everett passed into God’s eternal peace on December 18, 2021. He was the oldest son of four, born to Everett Euel and Jo Anna (Vance) Allen. Everett was a 1958 graduate of Stigler High School. In 1959, he married his wife of 62 years, Barbara Jean Goff. They both moved to California for a few years, then returned to the Oklahoma City area. Everett gained employment at Scott Chevrolet in Oklahoma City for 8 years as a tune up and electrical mechanic. During that time frame, he worked for Sun Electric as a sales and service rep and started his automotive teaching experience at Southwest Automotive School at night. Then in 1968, the automotive department head, at then Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, offered Everett a full-time career as the instructor in the tune-up division of the Automotive department that would last nearly 30 years. After retirement he was contacted by General Motors to do contract training for 7 years in facilities in the U.S. and overseas, as well as build Allen’s Automotive Service with his oldest son, Randy. Everett loved to travel, especially to the mountains during the summer. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting, especially the annual pheasant hunting trip. Everett stayed busy with projects around the house, and always loved to watch OU Sooners on TV. Everett is preceded in death by his parents, and his infant son Michael Ray. He is survived by his wife Barbara, and two sons: Randy Euel Allen and wife Colene of Okmulgee, and Chad Everett Allen and wife Crystal of Okmulgee. Two brothers: Bill Allen and wife Glenda of Stigler, and Steve Allen and wife Linda of Stigler. Three sisters: Gwenda Cashmere of Edmond, Rose Hammond and husband Mark of Edmond, and Annette Flowers and husband Jim of Selma, Indiana. Viewing will be Monday, December 27, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M., with the family present from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. to receive friends, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee and Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Stigler First Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend David Bigger officiating. Interment will follow in the Vance Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Denny Highfill, Larry Goff, Brandon Goff, Matt Goff, Hershel Parker and Randy Allen. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
