Bonnie Jean Brooks, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 87. Bonnie was born on December 22, 1934, to Sam and Mary Elizabeth (Walsh) Wilson in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was one of four children. She began working for Southwestern Bell during her senior year , graduated high school and married her high school sweetheart Claude Brooks. They were married for twenty-seven years before his passing. Bonnie continued to work for SWB for more than 30 years before her retirement. She later cleaned houses to help her keep busy. Bonnie loved to square dance, enjoyed listening to music, and water aerobics. Bonnie was a member of Last Chance Baptist Church in Okfuskee County. She is preceded in death by her husband Claude Brooks, parents Sam and Mary Wilson, brothers Guy Frances Wilson, Sammy Wilson and a grandchild Alyssa Wilbourn. She is survived by sons Trent Brooks and wife Lisa, Stan Brooks, sister Charlotte Gayles, grandchildren Trenton Brooks, Kristin Brooks, MacKenzie Klutts, Wyatt Lee Brooks, Morgan Lee Brooks, great-great grandchildren Ashton Brooks, Zachery Brooks, MaKenzie Mae Wilbourn, Jaidence Nicole Wilbourn, and Adalen Shae Wilbourn. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
