Barbara Ann Wright

November 15, 1953 - January 12, 2021

Barbara Ann (Barke) Wright was born November 15, 1953 in Williston, North Dakota to the late DeWayne and Delores (Kluken) Barke. She passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Tulsa at 67 years of age. She was raised in North Dakota and after marriage, moved to Okmulgee in 1973. Barbara was retired from the Bookstore at OSU-IT after more than 30 years working there. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking. She loved her time at the lake, especially when boating. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch and feeding the geese, and driving her OSU Golf Cart. Her greatest love was her granddaughters. Barbara was formerly a member of the Moose Lodge in North Dakota and the Okmulgee Elks Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Kathy Erlenbusch and a brother, Robert Barke. Survivors include her sons, Tommy Wright and Debi and David and Sasha Wright, granddaughters, Emilee Wright and Whitney Wright, a brother, Wayne Barke and wife Donna and Darrell and Jean Wright. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Sinclair officiating, assisted by Reverend Dakota Bunch. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Tommy Wright, David Wright, Josh Newton, Tim Harkrider, Darrell Wright, Donny Hair and J.P. Wright. Wayne Barke will serve as an honorary casket bearer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
