Alice K. Bingman

Alice Kay (Arneberg) Bingman passed from this life on November 28th, 2015. Alice was born on Johnson Air Base, Japan, on December 29, 1955, becoming the youngest of three girls to John and Elizabeth (Sue) Arneberg. Although of the same blood, the sisters each had a different character. The oldest sister, Karen was no nonsense and very astute, Janet was mischievous yet charitable to a fault, and Alice was a young and rebellious equestrian with a heart of gold. At least that is her husband's view from the stories he was told. Alice attended Victor Valley Senior High School and graduated in 1974. Alice entered active duty service with the United States Air Force in March of 1977. Her duty career field was in the Security Police as a Law Enforcement Specialist for 10 years. She changed her career field to become an Education and Training specialist for her remaining 10 years of service. During her military career, she earned numerous awards for her achievements and devotion to duty. She met her husband, Richard, while they were stationed together at Wiesbaden Air Station in Wiesbaden, Germany. They were married on May 5th, 1978. They both retired from active duty, with her retirement in March of 1997. Alice earned her Bachelor's Degree at Cal State San Bernardino which led to a brief stint of teaching in Victorville, CA. Alice loved to ride horses. Although bowling was never her forte, she loved the sport for the friendships she developed. She tolerated the back of a motorcycle to join friends and see new places. She travelled the world and wanted to travel more. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and had a devotion to our Service Veterans both near and far. She joined the "Scrap Happy Quilters" in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to learn new ideas, enjoy like minded friends and improve upon the teachings from her step-mother. She was recommended for, applied to and was accepted into the "Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks". Alice's military background (and some say her German bloodline) made her mission oriented which startled some when her take charge attitude kicked in to accomplish tasks required to reach set goals. It was said that "If she wanted you to do it tomorrow, she would have told you tomorrow." Alice is loved by and gave love to all her family members. She is preceded in death by her father, John, her mother, Sue, and her middle sister, Janet. She is survived by her husband Richard Bingman; step mother Frances Arneberg; eldest sister Karen Kirgis with husband Doug; stepbrother Larry Metivier with wife Kathy; Father and Mother-in-law, James and Ann Bingman; daughter Wendy Diaz and husband Jason; son James Bingman; and grandchildren Derek Bingman, Jason and Jersey-Jo Diaz. She was especially close to and maintained contact with her aunties Lori Brody and Carline Pajong; cousins Kenny and Carol Broudy, David and Ronda Broudy, Diana and Michael Andrich and Carl and Nancy Pajong; and her unofficially adopted, two times, foreign exchange student Ismail A lot. Alice loved and had faith in the good Lord our God. She was thankful for His blessings, and prayed for those in distress. She is missed dearly with sad understanding. May God grant her peace in her new home. A service to honor Alice's life will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
