Ruth Heath's Obituary Mom’s journey of life began on August 3, 1930, with the unity of her parents Forris and Lillie Pearl Sylvan in Mounds, OK. She was one of six children born to this holy union. Mom’s education began as a young girl learning about the Bible. She attended Prairie View School, Beggs Schools, and Langston University. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, crocheting, fishing, and singing gospel songs. She met and married Clarence Heath. From this union, six children were born. Her son Edward, known to many as “Skeet” has passed on. Mom enjoyed life and loved the Lord to the fullest. As a mom, she was gentle, but she didn't play. She meant what she said and said what she meant. Her voice was never raised, but every word was heard loud and clear. Discipline was implemented when necessary. Mom was always an elegant dresser; if she didn't say “snazzy” or “jazzy”, you might as well take it back and get your money back. Mom left a strong legacy of love and living to treat others as they would treat you. She also instilled the importance of reading your Bible, attending church, and doing God’s will. God allowed Mom to live for 95 years. During her life, she witnessed many loved ones go before her—her parents, all of her siblings, a son, and three grandsons—but through it all, she kept her eyes on God. She knew where she came from and where she was going. On September 16, 2025, early Tuesday morning with family, Mom had her golden ticket ready to catch the glory train to Heaven when she heard the Master conductor call “All aboard Ruth!” She took her seat and bid farewell to her family. Mom leaves to cherish and honor her glorious memory three daughters: Evelyn (Larry) McCullough of Beggs, Elmira Gibbs of Beggs, and Jackie Heath of Tulsa; two sons: Micheal (Delilah) Heath of Mounds and Kenneth Heath of Omaha; along with 14 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Viewing for Ruth will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M., at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11A.M., at the First Baptist South Church of Beggs, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery.
