Rebecca Autaubo

Rebecca Autaubo was born May 19, 1935 to Samuel and Sarah (Miller) Simmers, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where she was one of eight children. She passed away at the age of 86 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rebecca grew up in the Okmulgee County area and attended school at Oakdale. She married George Clay Autaubo and had six children. Rebecca understood the importance of education and later went on to attend Conners State College. She fueled the love of education by becoming a teacher at Okmulgee Head Start where she worked a number of years before her retirement. In her spare time, she loved entertaining family, doing crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, and watching her Cowboy shows. She enjoyed having her family around, but especially her grandchildren. She always made sure they were fed and taken care of. She was a constant source of encouragement to her family in pursuing their relationship with Jesus Christ as well as continuing their education. Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Sarah, her husband George Clay Autaubo, her two daughters Evelyn Pridgen and Adeline Sloma, and one son George Henry Autaubo, one grandson Christopher Chisholm and one granddaughter, Megan Autaubo, and one great grandson Elijah Chisholm. She is survived by daughter Linda Chisholm and husband Frank of Okmulgee, sons Rodney Autaubo and wife Gayle of Broken Arrow, Tim Autaubo and wife Jennifer of Tulsa, and 15 grandchildren; Bonnie Chisholm, Chebon Chisholm, Crystal Chisholm, Stephanie Schippers, Matthew Autaubo, Sarah Bagby, Jonathon Autaubo, Samuel Sloma, Rebecca Medlock, Amanda McNew, Joshua Autaubo, Isaac Autaubo, Trey Autaubo, Brandon Autaubo, Anna Autaubo and many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday, October 25, 2021, from 4:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. Graveside services will be Monday, October 25, 2021, at 10 A.M. at the Miller Family Cemetery with Vincent Polen officiating. Casket bearers will be Brandon Autaubo, Joshua Autaubo, Isaac Autaubo, Andrew Medlock, Shawn Medlock, and Mathew Autaubo. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
