Pauline Rabbit

Pauline Rabbit, 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2016. She was born on January 16, 1943 in Okfuskee County, OK to Walter Jones Sr. and Mary Yahola Jones. She married Amos Rabbit on August 16, 1963. She attended Haskell Indian Nation University, Lawrence, KS. Pauline was a homemaker for many years and she eventually entered the workforce and was a Mechanical Inspector for Varian Medical Systems, Inc. in Palo Alto, California. She was baptized in 1970 at Southern Hill Baptist Church in Hayward, California. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, dominoes and watching softball and basketball games and loved to read, work crossword puzzles, sewing and quilting, cooking and baking and listening to music. Survivors include her husband of 52 years Amos Rabbit of Okemah, OK, three daughters Sheila Ramirez and spouse Luis Ramirez Jr., Tammy Rabbit of Okmulgee, and Kimberly Silva and spouse Martin Silva of Modesto, California. Her granddaughters are Cheyenne Sky Rodrigues, Dakota Ray Silva and Mahiya Serena Ramirez and grandsons Michael J. Rabbit, David Rodrigues and Martin Silva Jr. and one great-granddaughter Analicia Rodrigues. She also was a mother figure to Jamie Taporco of Las Vegas, Nevada, Larry Tom and Mona Tom Henderson of Durant, OK. Pauline had three sisters Sally Ann Good Voice, Linda Minter, and Esther Berryhill and one brother Loper Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her siblings Jimmie Jones, Fred Jones, Paul Jones, and Walter Jones Jr. A funeral service for Pauline will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee with Rev. Norman Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Randy Minter, Jared Jones, Justin Jones, Patrick Jones, Tim Good Voice, Kenny Good Voice, and Ivan Bear Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Edmond Rabbit, Gerald Rabbit, Treton Rabbit, Darryl Lowe, Larry Tom, James Tom, Sammy Taporco, Butch LaSarge, Larry Joe Soweka, and JoJo Johnson. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
