Michael Lee Whitlow

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Michael Lee Whitlow, 47, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, on July 11th, 2025. Michael was born on April 10th, 1978, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He was an enrolled member or the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and is also Hopi and Muscogee (Creek). He is survived by his parents, Rufus and Patricia Whitlow, of Okmulgee, OK, sister, Jacqueline Munds, of Tulsa, OK, nieces and nephews, Tina Thompson, of Tulsa, OK, Amanda Matthews (spouse Earl), of Broken Arrow, OK, Adam Munds (spouse Kealey), of Tulsa, OK, and Rebekah Neri (spouse Eduardo), of Mont Belvieu, TX, aunts, Rubeen Hicks, of Sapulpa, OK, and Sharon Lowe (spouse Marvin), of Bryant, OK, uncles, Leroy Whitlow, of Dustin, OK, Troy Whitlow, of Dustin, OK, Floyd James (spouse Mary), of Clarkdale, AZ, Darwin James, of Prescott, AZ, and Leland James, of Clarkdale, AZ, and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, and other family members from Oklahoma, Arizona, Nevada, to Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Rosana (Harper) Whitlow, of Dustin, OK, and Leonard and Imogene (Talawytewa) James, of Clarkdale, AZ, in addition to other family members. Michael was a graduate of Okmulgee High School with the Bulldog Class of 1996. After graduation, he attended DeVry University in which he obtained his Bachelor's Degree and graduated Cum Laude in two years. He lived in Dallas, TX for a few years and then returned home to live in Oklahoma. He enjoyed his time he got to spend at his parent's home in Okmulgee, loving his mom's homecooking, relaxing in their company, putting together the occasional puzzle with Mom, and watching their favorite sports. Michael was a sports fanatic and some of his favorite teams included the OU Sooners (in which he was a football season ticket holder), the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He enjoyed spending time at River Spirit Casino visiting his friends and riding one of his Indian Roadmaster motorcycles. He was a gaming and streaming enthusiast who was passionate about electronics and computers. He built his own custom pc's and was definitely proud of his gaming set-ups. He was a technology gearhead for sure. He was an avid learner and was very into working on and maintaining his cars and especially his motorcycle. He had a library of books and was a constant student trying to learn everything about everything! Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Michael will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. A wake service is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee, 303 E. 7th St. Okmulgee, OK. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 18, 2025, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee, OK with Reverend Marvin Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery, 2601 S. Wood Dr., Okmulgee, OK. Casketbearers will be Clint Hicks, Earl Matthews, Adam Munds, Lalo Neri, Edmond Whitlow, and Rufus Whitlow. Honorary casketbearers will be Floyd James, Leland James, Darwin James, Matthew Tapija, Eric Morgan, and Tony Frazier.
