Mary E. De Armon

Mary Ellen (Adair) DeArmon of Morris, Oklahoma passed to her heavenly home Friday, July 13, 2012, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 1 day. Mary was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma November 12, 1925 to Samuel Wilson and Sarah Ellen (Hancock) Adair. She married Lenzy Joe DeArmon September 18, 1948 in Vallijo, California. Mary proclaimed her belief and love for Jesus Christ at an early age and has lived her life full of love and giving to her family, many friends and everyone she met along the way. She is a loyal and respected member of the Morris Assembly of God Church. Mary has been an inspiration and very vital member of the Morris Lioness Club, Morris Extension Club, the Morris Sunshine Gals, and was past president of the Pocahontas Indian Women’s Club of Claremore. Through all of these organizations she gave many hours fundraising for scholarships of $50-$500 for the Morris Senior girls and to Cherokee High School graduates and continuing higher education. Mary loved and enjoyed her family more than anything in her life. She was always there to support and encourage all their endeavors. She was preceded in passing by her parents, one brother, Russell Sequoyah Adair, three sisters: Cherokee A. Cooper, Leola A. Lovett, Margaret A. Osbon and one nephew Mike Denton. Mary is survived by her loving family: her husband of 65 years Lenzy Joe DeArmon of the home, daughter Diana Blackwell of Morris, son Tim DeArmon (Cheryl) of Okmulgee, grandchildren: Alicia Robertson (John) of Owasso, Frank Knight (Beth) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Kristal DeArmon of Morris, Heather Brown (Vince) of Ft. Benning, Georgia, Maria Bullard of Morris, “Buckshot” Tim DeArmon (Devin) of Tulsa, Shalena Smith Head (Justin) of Liberty Mounds, Joshua Bullard of Morris, Hunter DeArmon of Okmulgee, great grandchildren: Jackson Knight, Jordan DeArmon, Whitlee Knight, Jodan DeArmon, Tray Brown, Fisher Head, Kenzie and Lenzie Brown, many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Services celebrating Mary’s life will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the Morris Assembly of God Church with Pastor Darrin Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mary’s nephews. Friends may view Mary at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Morris on Monday from 12:00 – 8:00 P.M.
