Lynette Baumann

Lynette Anne Baumann was born Monday, August 1, 1949 in Pender, Nebraska to the late Harold Edward and Lucille (Coan) Elsasser. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones Friday, December 29, 2017 at her Okmulgee residence. She was 68 years of age. Lynette grew up in Emerson, Nebraska and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1967. She then attended Nursing School in Omaha, receiving her L.P.N. Lynette and Walter E. Baumann were married on June 1, 1970 at the Sacred Heart Church in Emerson. They relocated to Del City, Oklahoma while Walt completed his residency and in 1979 made their home Okmulgee. Lynette was very community minded and served in many ways throughout Okmulgee. She remained very active at the Okmulgee County Family YMCA where she taught water aerobics and other exercise classes. She attended classes at OSU-IT in photography, a hobby she enjoyed and took pride in sharing her pictures. Lynette had a great love for the mountains. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Lynette will be remembered as a very giving person who always put others needs first. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and special friend to many. Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lucille Elsasser and her husband, Dr. Walter E. Baumann. Survivors include her sons, Chris Baumann and Seth Baumann and wife Christine, grandchildren, Tyler Hendricks, Tiarra Baumann, Jacob Baumann and Abbey Baumann, brothers, Larry Elsasser and Bill Elsasser and wife Peggy and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening beginning at 5:30 P.M., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 4, 2017 also at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Dozier, Chad Soma, Matt Mabrey, Bob Elsasser, Blake Johnson, and Eric Weber. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ed Osborn, Dr. Bill Grubb, Wade Hall, Jim McClendon, Jacob Elsasser, Judy Bliss and Erin Dozier. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 515 S. Morton, Okmulgee, OK 74447.
