Letha Mae Lee Fyffe

Letha Mae Lee Fyffe, age 96, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s (Wilma and Bob Brown) home where she had lived for the past two years. She went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, August 22, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Letha Mae was born on December 25, 1913 in Pierce, Oklahoma to John Lee and Sara Elizabeth Choat. She is survived by one sister, Ina Dois Smith, two daughters; Wilma Elizabeth Brown and husband Bob of Okmulgee, Betty Jean Olsen and husband Carl of Salt Lake City, Utah, two sons; Donald Dean Lee and wife Sylvia of Oklahoma City, and John David Lee and wife Barbara of Okmulgee. She is survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and numerous extended family, loved ones and dear friends. Letha Mae was preceded in death by her parents John and Sara Elizabeth Choat, two husbands; Ervin Floyd Lee and Roy Fyffe, three sons; Billy Ray Lee and wife Wilma, Floyd Lee, and Danny Lee, one daughter, Wanda Lee, two grandchildren; Rick Fortner and matthew Kellogg. She was also preceded in death by five brothers; Thomas Abraham Choat, John Michael Choat, William Celand Choat, Hollis Dewey Choat and Jessie Brooks Choat and four sisters; Mary Ethel Jones, Arcie Velma Ashley, Ruby Eulaula Arnold, and Nina Lois Kirkley. Letha Mae was a wonderful homemaker and always had a smile, a laugh, or a joke for those who came into her presence. She loved the Lord, her family, friends and life in general. She was a loving and giving Mother and Nana and friend to all. Letha Mae loved gardening, cooking, quilting and fishing and was always ready for a laugh or a good visit. She was an active member of Cornerstone Foursquare Church of Okmulgee. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Foursquare Church at 617 N. Oklahoma Street in Okmulgee with Reverend Jim Birch officiating. Burial will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Kellogg, Kelly Kellogg, Clay Lee, David Lee, Moose Lee, and Anthony Gialde. Friends may see Letha Mae at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Thursday from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet guests from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
