Johnnie Dugger

Johnnie Lou Bingman-Dugger 89, longtime prominent resident of Okmulgee, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Okmulgee. She was born September 9, 1919 in Wright City, Oklahoma to John Howard and Ruby Gay Sorrells Brown. Johnnie Lou moved to Okmulgee with her family in 1922 and attended Okmulgee Public Schools graduating in 1937. She then attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri. After returning to Okmulgee she married James B. Bingman in 1939. James preceded her in death in 1978 and she married Stanley Dugger in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was employed at Citizens National Bank and Trust from 1953 until her retirement in 1987. She had the position of Vice President and Trust Officer with the bank. Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents John Howard Brown and Ruby Gay Sorrells Brown-Knapp, her sister and brother in law Kay and Jim Carnes. Mrs. Dugger was a spectator of about any sport especially OU football and loved reading and dining out. She was a generous donor to the YMCA, Okmulgee Library and a staunch supporter of her church. Her memberships include the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Chapter Z and the Literature Club. Survivors include her son James K. and wife Ann Bingman of Okmulgee, step son Randy and wife Jeannie Dugger of Florida, grandchildren Richard and wife Alice Bingman of Okmulgee, Gina and husband Audie Parsons of Denton, Texas and Ashley Dugger of Florida, great granddaughter Wendy Bingman and great grandson James B. Bingman both of Apple Valley, California and Kati B. Fanning of Austin, Texas, great great grandson Dereck Bingman of Apple Valley California and nephews Brooks, Brad and Bryan Bingman and their wives and children of Sapulpa and other nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends Don and Gloria Laub, Joann Purvine, and Sherry Conrady all of Okmulgee. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee at 10 am. Rev. Craig Denslow will officiate. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 12-8pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Fred Harlan, Jack Harlan, Duaine Janzen, Don Laub, Brooks Bingman and Bradd Bingman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Bingman, Dick Bailey, Carlisle Mabrey III, Bruce Mabrey, Dan Sullivant, Edgar Hanson and Fred Burks.
