Joan Eaton

Joan Eaton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born in DeWitt, Arkansas on January 21, 1930, to Daniel and Alice Crawford. She married James H. (Jim) Eaton on June 25, 1948. They had three children, James, Sandra, and Donna. Joan worked 25 years for Dr. George L. Tracewell, M.D. until he retired. She later went to work for the Department of Human Services and retired in 2003. After her retirement she volunteered at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital as a Pink Lady. Joan actively attended First Baptist Church for many years and assisted in the office on Sunday mornings. She enjoyed attending OSU home football games, traveling with friends, and family, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Alice Crawford, her husband, Jim, son, James (Jamie), great-grandson Clayton (Clay) Spradling, brother, Earlin Crawford, sister-in-law, Betty Crawford and great niece, Kimberly Tidwell. She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Eaton and friend Pat Clingan of Bixby, and Donna Dillard and husband Don of Kiefer. Six grandchildren: Gina Haney and Mike of Broken Arrow, Connie Johnson and Jeff of Culpeper, VA, Shannon Evans of Atlanta, GA, Thomas (Tommy) Ford and Paula of Glenpool, Blaine Eaton of Mustang, Joni Randleman and Erick of Glenpool. Twelve great-grandchildren: Meagan Millsaps, Whittney Dershem, Austin Ford and wife Danielle, Cole Ford and wife Ciara, Josie Spradling, Kaylen Spradling, Tyler Ford, Phoenix Randleman, Adelyn Evans, Sydney Randleman, Jared Kanada, and Ashlynn Ford. Three great-great-grandchildren: Landry Ford, Kinsley Brown, and Hadleigh Ford. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 4-6 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ford, Jeff Johnson, Austin Ford, Cole Ford, Tyler Ford, and Jared Kanada. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
