Donald T. Jones

Donald T. Jones, age 79 of Beggs OK, passed away August 11, 2012. He was born March 26, 1933, in Slick OK to Archie I, and Nell Emma Jones. Don joined the National Guard when he was fifteen years old, and at eighteen he enlisted with the United States Air Force. During those five years, he served in the Korean War for his country. Don married the love of his life, Sue Melvin on Valentines Day, February 14, 1959 in Bristow, OK. Don and Sue created the start of their life together in Slick, OK, then they moved back and forth seasonally to Michigan, where Don worked in Construction. In December of 1959 they started their family. In 1963 they moved to Beggs, OK raising their four children in the home where they resided for the passed forty-nine years. Don retired from Ball Brothers Glass Company on October 31, 1996. He enjoyed going to church, reading, cooking, riding horses, swimming, fishing, spending time with family and grandchildren. Don was a loving influence to his family and friends. He has joined his family in heaven, what a reunion they are having as he was the last of his brothers and sister to make the journey. The choir up there is really going to enjoy his singing… Mr. Jones is survived by his wife: Sue Jones of Beggs, OK; son: Bill Jones and wife Kelly of Longview, TX; daughters: Melody Ennis and husband Steve of Nuyaka, OK, Darla Jones of Beggs, OK; Kathy Wall and husband Lee of Muldrow, OK; grandsons: Michael and Matthew Jones of Longview, TX; Jake Ennis of Nuyaka, OK; Dillon Wall of Fort Campbell, KY, Jaxson Wall of Muldrow, OK; granddaughters: Heather Drake and husband Dan of Longview, TX and Ember Ennis of Nuyaka, OK; adopted daughters Amanda Harrison of Norman, OK and Krystal Beel of Henryetta, OK, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Voleta Beasley, and brothers Archie, Billy, and Marvin Jones. Pall Bearers: grandsons and nephews – Charles Beasley, Chip Beasley, Randy Dumas, Marty Dumas, Troy Minnicks, Jr, Michael Jones, Matthew Jones, Dan Drake, Dillon Wall, Jaxson Wall, and Jake Ennis. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Nuyaka Baptist Church with Revered Jarrod Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery.
