Charles Wayne Davidson

Charles Wayne Davidson, known to most as "Charley" passed away on May 7, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 78. He was born to James and Mary (Phillips) Davidson on August 4, 1945, in Boswell, Oklahoma. Charley grew up in the Pawhuska area attending Nelagoney schools. Charley was a proud member of Choctaw Nation tracing his heritage back to his family making the trek on the Trail of Tears. Charley began his career in the oil field industry owning and operating a pulling unit until he retired. He then went to work part-time for Tom Purcell driving a truck. Charley was not one to sit idle, he soon began working for Okmulgee County, under the supervision of three county commissioners. Charley and Cathie (Cooper) married on March 8, 1997, joining their two families. Charley also began buying a few cows but quickly built his herd. It was his daily job to go check the cows with Abby, his black lab, by his side. Charley was a steadfast sight at the local Shell station drinking coffee with his fellow LOAFERS. Charley was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary, a brother Jack Davidson, and a sister Bonnie Rupe. He is survived by his wife Cathie of twenty-seven years, children Chuck Davidson, Mindy Wolf, Shelly Vivacqua and husband Franco, Lori Smith, Steve Davidson and wife Megan, Lisa Driver and husband Steve, Laura Macom and husband Clayton, LeeAnn Brantley, and DeeAnn Suazo, grandchildren Laurie Barrett, Clinton Smith, Garret Wolf, Stephanie Eastburn, Bradley Akin, Kristen Akin, Sherridan Akin, Jonah Davidson, Jessica Driver, Micah Driver, Dakota Macom, Colt Macom, Savannah Macom, Tanner Brantley, Brooke McDonald, and Devin Suazo, great grandchildren Declan, Mason and many other relatives and friends. Visitation for Charley will be Monday, May 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Robert Yandell officiating. Casket Bearers will be Tanner Brantley, Micah Driver, Dakota Macom, Colt Macom, Steve Driver, Clayton Macom, and Quincey McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Smith, David Beesley, and Fred Clanton. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
