Beverly June Foster

Beverly J. Foster passed from this earthly life surrounded by her family in her home, on November 8, 2009. Beverly was born July 19, 1946 in Houston Texas to James Frances Robitaille and Norma (Wyrick-Robitaille) Cunningham. Her father preceded her in death when she was 12 years of age. She was married to George Wayne Foster on October 4, 1963 in Columbus, Kansas. They recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Beverly was a dedicated wife, mother and extremely proud grandmother of five grandchildren. As a young mother she was active as a scout leader and homeroom mom. She loved to throw parties and host events with family and friends. Much of the Fosters' summers were spent on Grand Lake, family vacations and golfing at Miami Golf and Country Club. George and Beverly loved to travel with close friends, Mexico and Las Vegas were two of their favorite places to vacation. Son, Darren Wayne Foster was born on November 3, 1964 and Kelly Jo Carpenter was born October 19, 1966 both in Miami. Darren has two children Cheyenne and Dakota Foster of Miami. Kelly has three children Daniel and Andrew Rasor and Corie Anderson also of Miami. The grandkids and their friends will miss the great times they had at Grandma Bev's backyard pool parties. Beverly is also survived by three sisters Joyce Roberson and her husband Johnny of Valley Falls, Kansas; Sheila Hull and husband Dean; Teresa Finley and husband Tom all of Wyandotte; one brother Dean Cunningham and their mother Norma Cunningham of Wyandotte. Her little sister Joyce Elaine was her best friend and primary caregiver since June 4 when she made the decision to come and be at her side until the end. She is also survived by her precious little dogs, Ginger, Hillary and Hannah, in her last days she would ofter request her babies to be put in bed with her and asked if Hannah could go with her. Beverly loved to garden and make her house look beautiful for guests. She loved to help friends, family, and anyone who would accept her help. She loved to lend a hand, and share her creativity with her loved ones. Her grand kids knew they and their friends were always welcome to come and hang out with her. She was extremely creative, and always spent her time thinking of ways to make her house and yard look even more beautiful. When Beverly went anywhere you couldn't help but notice the spunky, outgoing little woman, full of energy and life; dressed from head to toe with her signature flashy accessories - purse, belt, shoes, and anything she could find to make her outfit go together. George and Beverly established Foster's Package Store and Bev's Beverages in January 1971. Beverly owned and operated several retail stores throughout the years in Stillwater and Miami. Beverly was a member of the Episcopal Church of Miami and Pastor Joey Zodrow of First Baptist Church of Miami helped her to remember her baptism in her backyard pool on August 16, 2009. She was blessed to have her granddaughter Cheyenne receive her baptism into the Baptist Church during this special family celebration. She and George have also been members of the Miami Golf and Country Club since 1972 where they enjoyed many friends and activities through the years. A Celebration of Beverly's Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Miami on Wednesday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. Mark Rasor will officiate the service and will be assisted by his son, Daniel. Burial will be at the Wyandotte Indian Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 10th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist. Pallbearers will be Bill Harsch, Jason Blevins, Don Barr, Bo Smith, Thomas "Hightower" Anderson and Jerry Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Gilstrap and Jerry Blevins. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Youth Ministry.
