Anna Barbara (Annemie) Waldroop

Anna Barbara Annemie Waldroop went to be with her Lord on December 17m 2011 at the age of 87. She was born April 30, 1924 to Johann & Anna Popp. Her birthplace was Nussbuehl, in Bavaria, Germany. She met her future husband, Glen Waldroop in Bayreuth, Germany, where he was stationed after WWII. They both worked at the U.S. Armed Forces post office. They were married on October 9, 1948 in Bayreuth. They then sailed together aboard the M.I.T. Victory from Bremerhaven to new Your Harbor. They made their first home in Okmulgee, OK. To this union were born two children; a son, Dennis Rudy, and a daughter, Ingrid. Annemie was a life-long member of the Lutheran faith and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee. She served in numerous ministries within the church. She worked at Goble Auto Parts as a bookkeeper for many years. Also, she was a charter member of the German American Society of Tulsa. Participation in this organization brought her much joy, especially singing with the G.A.S.T. Sainger, as music held a special place in her life. Annemie loved people. Her warm hospitality and caring personality were evident to all who met her. Proudly becoming a U.S. citizen, she always also cherished her German homeland. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, and her son, Dennis Rudy. Survivors include her husband, Glen of the home, and daughter Ingrid and husband Raymond Cline, grandsons Keith, and Justin and his wife Dana, great-grandchildren Genessee and Keller; daughter-in-law Wista Waldroop, grandsons, Shannon and wife Kara, great-granddaughter robin; Micah and wife Lisa, Dakota and wife Tanya, great-granddaughter, Lucia; and Chisholm. Annemie will also be missed by her adopted family Brigitte Phelps and daughters Susanna, Karin and husband David, and Elke and husband Richard and a host of family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Myles Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 5 until 7 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund in her name.
