Ronald Dean Hemphill

Ronald Dean Hemphill a resident of Okmulgee, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the age of 58. He was born on June 1, 1960 in Oklahoma City to the late Robert and Betty Jo Hemphill. Ron was a former Police Officer and Police Reserve Officer in addition to being a business partner at B’s Farm Management in Okmulgee, a family-owned business started by his parents. He also worked with his father at the Federal Bankruptcy Court and was active in the Lions Club for many years. Ron was an entrepreneur and a jack of all trades who loved his family and to embark on new adventures. From opening a restaurant in Morris as well as a painting business in Okmulgee with his wife Linda at the time, to being a scuba diving instructor in Maui, Hawaii, he attempted to fulfill existing passions and to find new ones. He also had an assortment of skills such as carpentry, art, cooking, and even playing various instruments. Ron was known for his contagious laugh, friendly nature, ornery personality, and funny sense of humor. He loved traveling, fishing, outdoor life and the ocean, which is why he moved his family to Washington state and later Hawaii. His family will always cherish those memories. Above all else, Ron’s three daughters were his pride and joy. They shared a special bond and relationship with him and will be forever grateful for the father he was. He was also blessed with five wonderful grandchildren who he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish the memories of Ron are his daughters Ashley Hemphill and Jeremy, Alisha Ertugrul and husband Ty, Angela Ertugrul and husband Tolga, grandchildren, Jerron Hemphill, Aspen Ertugrul, Holden Ertugrul, Averie Ertugrul, and Adalee Ertugrul, sister Joyce Poitevent and husband Michael, nieces Cheryl Cole and husband Andrew, Valerie Williams and husband Bradford, and Katherine Poitevent, aunt Betty Hall, uncle Walter Hemphill and wife Bobbi, cousin Laura Morris and husband Jim, former spouse and friend, Linda Anderson, and other relatives. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dennis Liles, Mike Anderson, and William Anderson for being great friends to Ron for many years. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Roland Youngberg officiating. Arrangements and Cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
