Katherine Anne Summers

Katherine Anne Summers, lovingly known as Kassy, entered into God’s Kingdom on March 18, 2022 after a brief illness. She passed away at home with her loving husband and children by her side. She was born in Arnold, PA on March 7, 1941 to Louie and Catherine Giulioli. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1950 where Kassy met Tommy Summers. They were married in 1956 and made their home in Okmulgee, OK where they raised 3 children. They celebrated 65 years of marriage last year. After obtaining her GED at Okmulgee Tech , Kassy worked at Okmulgee High School. She then went on to work for DHS for 34 years. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Kassy was an accomplished bowler and participated in that sport for 20 years . She loved gardening and her yard was named Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce Lawn of the Week twice. She was an avid dog lover and enjoyed spending time with her cherished Annie. Throughout her entire life, Kassy held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Anthony’s Alter Society. Kassy joins her parents Louie and Catherine Giulioli and her brother Pat Giulioli in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members and friends, including her husband, Tommy, brother Tom Giulioli and his wife Ann, children Jamie Hornburg, Melanie Hodge and her husband Mike , Brian Summers and his wife Donna, grandchildren Stanya Rose, Shanna Spears, Shawn Dunbar, Clinton Hodge, Kerbi Kollman, Auburn Jacobs, Jason Summers, Jonathan Summers, Christopher Summers, and a multitude of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, 515 S. Morton, Okmulgee, OK. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Church. While Kassy will be missed by all who loved her, we can rejoice knowing that while this is the end of Kassy’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
