Franklin M. Prentice

Funeral services for Frank Prentice, who passed away on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, will be Friday, July 28th at 10:00 am at the Second Baptist Church. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Franklin Meridith Prentice was born June 29th, 1943, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to the late Daniel Prentice, Sr. and Rowena Martha (Lunt) Prentice. Frank graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1963. He worked at ASG before beginning his career at Covington Aircraft, where he retired as Vice President in January 2009 after many years of loyal service. On February 1st, 1965, Frank married Diane McCarty in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They returned to Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where they started their family and spent their lives together. He was a long-time member of the Second Baptist Church in Okmulgee where he served the community faithfully, alongside his wife Diane. Frank enjoyed golfing with the Christian Men’s Golf Group, riding his trike, and spending quality time with his friends and family. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 47 years, Diane Prentice, a sister, Donna Prentice and brother, Danny Prentice. Survivors include his son, Joe Prentice and wife, Margaret, daughter Julie Earnest and husband Mark, daughter Lori Tucker and husband Mark, nephew (son) Danny Ray Prentice, (son) Gary Wayne Fleetwood, sisters Linda Gale Young and Diane Bellows, 7 grandchildren, April Poulter and husband Kris, Megan Gill and husband Sam, Jen Gouge and husband Warren, Jessica Posey and husband Mike, Miranda Lukenbill and husband Steven, Heather Earnest and Nicholas Prentice, 17 great-grandchildren, and countless golfing buddies. Our heartfelt thanks are extended to all who cared for Frank, including St. Francis Hospice, for all their excellent and compassionate care.
