Eddie Louis Ross

Eddie (Snuffy) Ross, passed away on August 25th, 2022, in Tulsa, Ok at the age of 66. He was born to Eddie and Evelyn Ross on March 22, 1956, in Okmulgee, Ok. Snuffy grew up in Mounds, Ok with his parents and two younger brothers, Jimmy and Pete. His love of fishing and being outdoors started at a very young age and continued throughout his adult life. They loved going to rodeos, working in the garden on the farm and ultimately just doing what boys do. In his late teens he loved to water ski and was actually really good at it. Snuffy went right to work after high school, he worked for J&L Tank Trucks, he could fix just about anything that had a motor and a transmission. He spent many years at Swearingen Machine Shop as a machinist, making a lot of memories. He was known by everyone around town as the guy to call if you had a question or a problem with your electric, your car, or anything else that needed to be fixed. Snuffy loved to fish and when his daughter Amanda was old enough, they would spend their time together pond hopping and catching fish; a lot can be learned on the bank of a good fishing hole. He loved to have a good time, he liked to hang out with good friends and family, telling jokes and shooting the breeze. You could always find him Sunday mornings with the paper reading it from front to back, he was an avid reader. He loved the OU Sooners and giving his daughter a hard time when the Sooners would beat her Cowboys during Bedlam. One thing about Eddie was he was a loyal friend, he would quite literally give the shirt off his own back to a friend in need, no questions asked nothing expected in return. He had a heart of gold, and you could count on him to be there for you in your time of need. Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Ross Sr. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Brose and husband Brent Brose, and his granddaughter Aubrey Brose of Beggs, Ok. As well as his mother Evelyn Ross, brothers Pete Ross and Jim Ross of Beggs, Ok; Nephews Monty Ross, Jonathan Ross, Robbie Ross and Nieces Leslie Williams, Makenzie Ross, Jessi Nolen and Tabitha Nikel and their Spouses. He also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Snuffy will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends. Save us a spot at that golden pond and try not to catch all the catfish before we get there. We’ll see you when we get there!
